Anushthan- 2016 concludes at Kathua Campus

KATHUA, Mar 17: Anushthan 2016 -a two-day Cultural Meet under the theme ‘Celebrating Unity in Diversity’,  organized by Kathua Campus of  Jammu University,  concluded today with a glittering closing  ceremony.
Prof R D Sharma, Vice Chancellor, JU, was the chief guest on the occasion while Prof Jigar Mohhamad, Dean Research Studies, JU, presided over the function. Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Rector Kathua Campus, was the Convener of the 2-day Cultural Meet. Prof Keshav Sharma, Registrar JU and Dean Business Studies;  Jai Kumar Sharma, Director Colleges Development Council and Prof  J P S Joorel, Dean Mathematical Sciences,  were the special guests while  Anjali Sharma Director Doordarshan, Jammu was the guest-of-honour  on the occasion
Prof R D Sharma appreciated the efforts of Kathua Campus for organizing this mega event and advised the students to work hard to create success stories as brand ambassadors of University of Jammu.
Prof Neelu Rohmetra, in her welcome address, hoped that the event met the expectations and proved useful in promoting the tradition of art, literature, drama, music and the dance.
Around 300 students, belonging to various disciplines from affiliated colleges of JU, participated in eleven different event categories during the two days.
In Solo Singing category, Manjinder Kour from Kathua Campus, Deepti from Bhagat Kabir College of Education and Neha from Lal Bahadur Shastri College got first, second and third prizes, respectively. In Group Song first prize was bagged by Govt Degree College Hiranagar, while Lal Bahadur Shastri College and Rajiv Gandhi College of Education got second and third prizes respectively. In Skit competition, Rajiv Gandhi College of Education got first prize, while Kathua Campus and Rajiv College of Education got second and third prize respectively. In Pot/ Flower decoration event, Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Education, Kathua Campus and Surya College of Competition bagged first, second and third prize respectively. In Rangoli competition Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Education got the first prize while Surya College of Education and Bhagat Kabir College of Education got 2nd and third prize respectively. In painting event, first and second prize was bagged by Kathua Campus. In Collage making, first prize was bagged by Govt Degree College Hiranagar and second Prize by of Rajiv Gandhi College of Education. In Solo dance, Kathua Campus won first prize whereas Rajiv Gandhi College of Education and Surya College of Education got second and third prize respectively. In group dance event, Kathua Campus bagged first prize while Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Education and Rajiv Gandhi College of Education bagged second and third prize respectively. In Musical Instrumental playing, Rahul Dev of Rajiv Gandhi College of Education bagged first prize and Tejpaul Kour of Kathua Campus bagged second prize. In western singing, Tejpal Kour of Kathua Campus and Surbhi Gupta of Rajiv Gandhi College of Education got first and second prize respectively.
The events were independently judged by Bindiya Tikoo, Poonam Handa, Anjali Sharma ( Director DD),   Digvijay Singh,  Naresh Sharma, Pyush Bhagat and Arjun Suri.
