Anti-militancy operations to be intensified in Kashmir: DGP

SRINAGAR: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh on Tuesday said that anti-militancy operations will be intensified further across Kashmir valley, till a lasting peace is established in the region.

Referring to the Monday’s attack on security force naka in Handwara of Kupwara, the DGP said that militants took undue advantage of civilian movement in the adjoining orchard.

”The militants fired at CRPF personnel, without caring about civilians behind whom they were taking shelter, leading to loss of life of an innocent civilian,” Mr Singh told reporters on the sideline of a wreath-laying ceremony of three CRPF jawans, held here on Tuesday. (AGENCIES)
