JAMMU, Apr 20: Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) seized huge consignment of illicit psychotropic drugs.
According to SP ANTF Vinay Sharma, ANTF J&K received a specific input about a large consignment of illicit psychotropic drugs being transported in a truck destined for Valley for further selling to innocent local youths.
“On receiving the input, ANTF J&K swung into action and intercepted the said truck at Chanapora, Byepass. Approximately 7500 bottles of banned cough syrup were recovered from the truck and seized accordingly”, SP said, adding that FIR under relevant sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been lodged in the instant case and investigation taken up.
“ANTF is investigating the forward and backward linkages of this illicit trade chain. More arrests are expected”, SP asserted.
He appealed to the general public to share information regarding such drug dealers so that this menace is uprooted from our society.
