KISHTWAR, July 20: The traditional annual yatra of Shri Ashtadash Bhuja Mata Sarthal Devi Ji Yatra began with great religious fervor and gaiety early this morning by organizing hawan at Gori Shankar Mandir, Sarkoot in which large number of people participated.
The impressive Shobha yatra accompanied the Chari Mubarak which was taken out from Gori Shankar Mandir passed through Chowgan Ground, Sheedhi Chowk and Bus Stand. The Yatra was led by Sanjeev Parihar, Vice Chairman of Shri Sarthal Devi Management Council with active and full cooperation of other members of the Management Council and Secretary Shiv Shakti Sewa Mandal Kishtwar Vanshaj Sharma.
Thousand of devotees including man, women and children were seen chanting religious slogans and bhajans along with several bhajjan mandalis and traditional drum beatings throughout the routes. The locals of various localities accorded warm welcome to Chari Mubarak and organized a stalls of prashad and sharbats for the yatries.
Shobha yatra culminated at Bus Stand from where the devotees boarded buses and other vehicles and left for the historic Sarthal Devi Temple Kishtwar. Tomorrow morning a Mahayagya will be performed at Sarthal Devi Mandir.
District administration along with police, Shri Sarthal Devi Management Council and Shiv Shakti Sewa Mandal Kishtwar have made all the necessary arrangements regarding security, drinking water, power supply, transport and other facilities at Sarthal and Kishtwar for the pilgrims.
The yatra is being organized by Shri Sarthal Devi Ji Trust under the patronage of Dr Karan Singh, Sole Trustee and Vikramaditya Singh, Chairman Trustee of the Trust.
