New India Assurance pays Rs 10 crore insurance claim to JKEDI

SRINAGAR, July 20: Sopore office of New India Assurance Company (NIAC) paid Rs. 10.08 crore to J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) as insurance claim towards damage suffered by JKEDI building at Pampore in last year terrorist attack.
Senior Divisional Manager of the insurance company, Dr. Daleep Pandita presented the cheque to Dr. M.I Parray, Director JKEDI.
Branch Manager, Susheel Tickoo and Dr. Majid, Chief Operating Officer JKEDI were also present on the occasion.
On this occasion Dr. Parray lauded Dr. Pandita for his efforts in finalising the claim payment.
He said it was the second claim paid by the company as last year Rs. 7 crore were paid for the losses suffered due to terrorist attack on its buildings.
Dr. Pandita assured JKEDI to continue cooperation in spreading general insurance awareness among the trainees of the institute for economic viability of their projects.
He said that NIAC has settled over 11,000 claims in the last financial year with 97 per cent claim settlement ratio, which is a record achievement till date in the history of general insurance industry in J&K.
