UDHAMPUR, Sept 14: Anil Paba, a bank officer and freelance archaeologist, participated in the international conference on “Buddhism in Southeast Asia” at Combodia,
The conference was organized by the ICCR (Indian Council for Culture Relation) in collaboration with Embassy of India in Combodia and Preah Sihanoukra Buddhist University, Combodia, under the overall coordination of Dr Sonia Jasrotia the daughter of soil, Sr Professor ICCR chair in Combodia.
Delegates from 12 countries, including India, Combodia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Mangolia, Singapore, Laos, Vietnam, Japan and United States of America participated in the conference and presented their research.
Besides exploring the various facets of Buddhism in Southeast Asian countries, the deliberations in the conference also focused on numerous aspects of cultural and trading exchanges among Indian and the many countries of the region.
The presence of a large number of Buddhist monks and practioners from Combodia as well as other countries and their deliberations made the conference highly interesting.
