The book entitled ” Mokala Gaas, Uchchi Doari” penned by noted writer and former top civil services cadre officer Ashok Angurana has captured popularity among the people and was received well in the literary circles. It may be mentioned that this 118-pages first book of son of the soil, an ex-IAS officer has also won covetous Ramnath Shastri award at a magnificent function organized by the Dogri Sanstha,, Karan Nagar, Jammu.
It is noteworthy that the Dogri Sanstha, the premier organization devoted to projection and promotion of Dogri language and Duggar’s rich cultural heritage has instituted this prestigious award in the name of one of the main founders and stalwarts of Dogri, Prof Ram Nath Shastri led a matchless struggle for popularizing and its inclusion in the 8th Schedule of Indian Constitution. It is a matter of pride that Mr Angurana was recipient of this award for this book in Dogri.
This book contains 54 poems in simple and stylish Dogri full of high flight of imagination and depth of human sentiments touching the heart and mind of the common people.. Its melodious and sweetness has a distinct quality and carved out a niche of its own type.
The president, Dogri Sanstha, Prof Lalit Magotra has highly praised the literary merit of the poetry of Mr Angurana in Preface of this book. Prof Shashi Pathania of Dogri Department, University of Jammu too has a good word for this maiden venture of Angurana’s Dogri poetry and-poet Angurana, in his foreword in the book, claims that being a Dogra he is fond of and proud for his mother-tongue Dogri which is now one of the India languages and on steady path of growth and advancement.
