MENDHAR, Jan 19: Anganwari workers and helpers working in ICDS projects in Mendhar and Balakote have expressed their grave concern over the non- disbursement of their monthly salary/ arrears for the last more than one year.
Alleging the lackadaisical approach of the authorities, the Anganwari workers and helper who wished not to be named said that they have not been paid salary for the last one year including arrears which were due to them. They said that, workers were called for meetings only though they are supposed to attend maximum two meetings a month.
They said despite increase in their salary they were being paid on old pattern and their monthly progress report is not being made on line inspite Rs 50 are being charged from them every month, they added.
They sought the immediate intervention of the Mission Director and Commissioner/ Secretary Social Welfare Department into the matter and release of their salary, arrears etc at earliest.
They said same was the situation in Balakote ICDS block where Anganwari workers and helpers were said to be without salary for the last 7 months. They said that in entire Poonch district ICDS project workers have pathetic condition. When contacted Madan Lal, who holds the additional charge of Districts Project officer, ICDS, said he was aware of the matter but was helpless.
