SRINAGAR: The Deputy Commissioner, Anantng, today issued notification for bye-election in Anantnag Assembly constituency, going to polls on June 19.
According to notification, the nomination paper forms to contest the bye-elections for Anantnag Assembly constituency will be issued from today till June 1, 2016. The Anantnag constituency fell vacant following the death of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who breathed his last in AIIMS on January 7, 2016.
The notification said that scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on June 2, 2016 at the office of Returning Officer while as notice of withdrawal of candidature may be delivered by a candidate or his/her authorized agent or election agent to any one of the officers specified up to 1500 hrs on June 4, 2016. The election for the constituency will be held on June 19. (AGENCIES)
