JAMMU, May 31: The Anand Vihar Welfare Association, representing Ward No. 41 in Jammu West, met today to address urgent civic issues affecting the locality and to announce its new leadership team.
During the meeting, the association highlighted five major problems disrupting daily life in the area, including frequent power cuts, poor sanitation, irregular water supply, blocked drains, and the urgent need to construct deep drains before the monsoon season.
The association strongly urged local authorities to speed up a pending drainage project.
This project was recently recommended by the J&K UEED Department to the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) for approval.
Members stressed that prompt action is essential to improve living conditions and prevent waterlogging during the upcoming rains.
To spearhead these efforts, the association unanimously announced its new team of office bearers.
While Krishan Lal Sharma was elected as President, Rakesh Kumar Matoo was elected as General Secretary, and Romesh Kumar Sharma as Patron.
Similarly, Devinder Singh Manhas, R.S. Mani, Rakesh Kumar Verma, J.L. Koul, Kamal Dev Sharma, and Romesh Sharma were elected as Vice-President and Savita Manhas was appointed as Finance Secretary.
The roles of Secretaries were assigned to Neelam Gupta, Dimple Sharma, Kamal Kumar Gupta, Sunil Pandita, and Amarjeet Singh.
Additionally, Ritesh Kumar Gupta was named Media Secretary, Harvinder Singh as Spokesperson, and Advocate Manoj Bhat as Secretary for Legal Matters.
The association expressed strong confidence that the newly elected team will work tirelessly to resolve these civic issues and improve the overall quality of life for Anand Vihar residents.
