JAMMU, Feb 28: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor, Amit Gupta here today inaugurated lane and drain work in Jewal Chowk area of Ward number 19.
The work shall be completed at a cost of Rs. 5 lakh and the condition of the lanes and drains in the area was dilapidated since long due to which the locals and the passersby faced a lot of problems.
While speaking on the occasion Amit Gupta appealed to the residents of his Ward to come forward and cooperate with JMC in various development works undertaken in Jammu city.
He urged them to avoid single use plastic and polythene in routine work and stop throwing debris, garbage and filth in public lanes and drains.
Amit Gupta also stressed upon the habit of segregation of dry and wet garbage at household level so that Jammu can be made neat, clean and beautiful city.
Many locals along with others were also present on the occasion.
