NEW DELHI, May 20: Noted author Amish Tripathi called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to present him a pre-release copy of his upcoming book.
During the meeting both exchanged wide-ranging views on a slew of issues including Hindu philosophy, ancient culture and green issues.
Posting about the meeting on Facebook and the micro blogging website twitter along with a photograph, Tripathi disclosed that among the topics that came up for discussion were ”on how vital it is to fight for women’s rights, and how our ancient ancestors can guide us.”
”I had the honour of visiting the Prime Minister’s residence to present him a pre-release copy of my upcoming book, Sita ? Warrior of Mithila. Narendra Modi ji was kind enough to spare some of his precious time to speak on many topics,” the author wrote.
”We briefly discussed my books, especially the Ram Chandra Series (Scion of Ikshvaku & Sita Warrior of Mithila). But even more enlightening were the discussions we had on other subjects. On Lord Nachiket and Lord Yama’s philosophical discussions in the Katha Upanishad. On Samanvaya, the Indian way to harmonise diversity.
On the importance of environmentalism. On how vital it is to fight for women’s rights, and how our ancient ancestors can guide us. On inspiring the youth to remain connected to our roots, even as we modernise.
”On the importance of a questioning and learning spirit. On India’s cultural influence outside our political boundaries. On the fabricated fiction called the Aryan Invasion Theory.
On shedding our mental slavery and celebrating the achievements of our ancient culture. The range of topics was eclectic and wide, and driven by a deep love for India.
”Thank you, Narendra Modi ji, for your valuable time, encouragement and guidance.
It spurs me further to write books which will celebrate, in a modern way, the beauty of our ancient culture,” he wrote. (UNI)
