JAMMU, June 29: Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Welfare Society (SAJYWS) at a function today launched the E Version of Guide book on annual Amarnath Yatra at SRTC Yatri Counter, Channi near here which has been published by Tourism Federation Jammu.
A large number of people including social activists and volunteers of Civil Defense as well as yatris attended the function. The Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Varma was the chief guest on the occasion, while the function was presided over by Kiran Wattal, president of the Society.
The Guide book was already released and its E Version was launched today. The book has been framed by Tourism Federation Jammu and its chairman, Rajesh Gupta was also present in the function.
On the occasion Divisional Commissioner distributed prashad among the pilgrims after performance of Pooja at the Langer installed by the society at SRTC counter on June 26.
The Society is working to guide and create awareness among the yatris about the holy pilgrimage of Swami Amarnath Ji so that more and more yatris across country as well as other parts of globe will participate in the yatra. The Society is also working to dispel fears among the people about the yatra created by some anti national forces to promote intercommunity bonds and brotherhood, said Wattal.
The function was also attended by Kuldeep Luthra, general secretary of the Society, its secretary, Prem Sharma, vice president, R K Goel, coordinator, Ajay Bhat, joint secretary, Pinto Ji other activists Aryan Ramesh, Rohit Bhat and Maharaj Krishan (MK).
On the occasion the volunteers of Civil Defense who displayed a yeoman’s service during last year’s yatra were awarded. They included Chief Warden, Paramjit Kumar, Deputy Chief Warden, Thakur Ranjit Singh, Aliyas Khan, SDM, North, Anita Pawar, Deputy Controller, Civil Defence, Tejinder Singh, DySP, JKP and Salim Khan, Health Officer Municipality.
