JAMMU, July 13: Dr Gagan Bhagat Dy chief spokesperson of J&K National Conference (NC) and former MLA has expressed his concern over July 8 Amarnathji tragedy, in which 16 people died & several were reported missing.
In a statement issued here, today he lambasted at the LG Government for not ordering a probe and taking action against the officials responsible for lapses. The cloudburst was not the reason, we call it a cloudburst when there is continuous rain of 100mm in an hour, but on July 8 it rained heavily for 75mm in three hours which was started at 05:30 pm. The IMD gave the warning well in advance and instead of taking a call the people at the helm of affairs permitted 25 Tents and three community kitchens at the Flood basin. This is totally criminal act and needs a thorough probe, he added.
