JAMMU, June 23: AM Hyundai today honoured daughter of the soil Kritika Khanna, first female para-rower of the Country under ‘Real Heroes’ initiative.
“Real Heroes” is an initiative by AM Group to felicitate local heroes of Jammu and Kashmir.
Kritika Khanna was felicitated at AM Tata Dealership Narwal Jammu by Sharmila Gupta in presence of Chairman AM Group Jatinder Gupta, Managing Director AM Group Sanjay Mahajan and Directors Sudershan Gupta, Ankur Mahajan, Akshay Mahajan and Tarun Malhotra along with Sakshi Mahajan and Saira Mahajan. Lifestyle Influencer Zoddie along with Harvinkle Singh were also present.
Sharmila Gupta handed over a gift as a token of appreciation to Kritika Khanna for her extraordinary perseverance and inhuman zeal.
Kritika Khanna, daughter of the soil becomes the first female para-rower to bring laurels to the Country and more importantly to Jammu and Kashmir. In Asian Para-Rowing Championship-2019 held at Cheongju, South Korea, Kritika Khanna represented India in team event designated as PR3Mix4+. Team India won bronze medal, the first for the country in the event.
An alumna of Presentation Convent School, Jammu and currently working as an Assistant Manager in J&K Grameen Bank, Kritika met with a road accident during her 12th grade board examinations and lost a leg. This unfortunate incident might have been the end of the road for many in their lives, but not for Kritika. Instead, she decided to fight back and she did it the hard way, becoming the first ever female para-rower from India.
