Almond rises on fall in supply

NEW DELHI, July 19:  Almond prices rose by Rs 200 per 40 kg in the national capital today largely on the back of increased buying by retailers and stockists amid fall in supplies from overseas markets.
Traders said increased demand from bulk consumers and depreciating rupee which made imports costlier mainly influenced almond prices.
Almond california rose by Rs 200 to conclude at Rs 18,400 per 40 kg and its kernel prices traded higher at Rs 640-660 as compared with Rs 630-650 per kg, respectively.
The following were today’s quotations (per 40 kg):
Almond (California) Rs 18,400 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 7,800-8,000; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 4,500-4,700; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-22,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 640-660 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 500-540 per kg. (PTI)
