POONCH, Aug 19: As the annual Shri Budha Amarnath ji Yatra concluded on the day of Rakshbandan on Thursday, the Holy Mace (Charri Mubarak) led by Shri 1008 Swami Vishavatmanand Saraswati ji Maharaj arrived Akhara Mandir , Poonch city here today.
Displaying age old tradition of secularism and brotherhood, the people from all the communities, received the Holy mace at the main gate of Akhara Mandir led by Dy Chairman of the Legislative Council Jahangir Hussain Mir, MLA Poonch Shah Mohd Tantray, District Gurdwara Panbandhak Committee Poonch president Rajinder Singh, Poonch Brigade Commander, Brig A S Pandarkar, DC MH Malik, SSP Jatinder Singh Johar, ADC Gurvinderjeet Singh, local Congress leader Gani Choudhary , Human Rights activist advocate Mohd Zaman, SD Sabha president Satish Sasan, Akhara Mandir Committee president Basant Ram, leading social activists advocate Sanjay Raina, Rajinder Singh Khajuria and many others.
The concluding function at Akhara Mandir was held for about two hours, where the Swami ji lauded the efforts of Administration and leaders from all the communities, besides Army Commander Poonch brigade for the assistance provided to the pilgrims and containing situation, despite attempts of some miscreants. A large number of pilgrims, members of Sadhu Samaj and locals were also present.
Jahangir Mir, who also visited Shrine at Mandi yesterday said in his address that it is the collective responsibility of all the communities in Poonch and Rajouri area to facilitate the yatris coming from various parts of the country. He condemned the incident of grenade attack on yatris at Poonch and acts of some miscreants at Mandi targeting vehicles and said there is need to remain vigilant from the designs of mischief mongers and enemies of peace and brotherhood.
MLA, Poonch, DC, Brigade Commander and other officers also spoke on the occasion. They all stressed for maintaining peace and brotherhood in the area at all costs. On this occasion several officers and social activists were felicitated by the head priest/ management committee.
