JAMMU, Mar 19: All Kashmiri Displaced United Front (AKDUF) has demanded the State Government to recommend minority status for Kashmiri Pandits (KPs), which it alleged are in a pitiable condition and need economic upliftment.
The Front in its meeting also emphasized the political parties to spell out their strategy regarding rehabilitation of the community, adding mere phrase of dignity and honour is often associated with the return of the Community doesn’t suffice.
The meeting which was chaired by president of the Front, PL Raina, regretted that the PM’s employment package has ended in a fiasco as only a mere representation of 1452 new recruits in the Valley out of 3000 posts has taken place.
The members also criticized the Government for its policy of allotment of quarters at Jagti and not making the lists public. They also complained that the construction of kitchen bathroom in the newly constructed community hall at Buta Nagar has not taken place.
