AJKLTF launches annual membership drive from Jammu

JAMMU, Nov 7: All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF) affiliated with Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM) started an annual membership drive from Jammu, here today.
It was disclosed by the office bearers of the AJKLTF, led by its president, Dev Raj Thakur and Rattan Sharma, general secretary during a press conference followed by executive meeting of senior members of the Federation was also held, wherein Jasmeet Singh Madaan, President Teacher’s Welfare Association Jammu along with fellow teachers joined the Federation and subsumed their Teacher Welfare Association in the ABRSM.
The newly joined group of teachers pledged to work honestly as per the set principles of the ABRSM. The office bearers of AJKLTF welcomed all the newly joined dignitaries in the Federation and expressed contentment for the impressive performance of ABRSM in the last two and a half decade.
Rattan Sharma appealed to the entire teaching community of the Jammu province to hold the hand of ABRSM for a better future of teaching community across J&K UT and thereafter he briefed the new entrants about the working and functioning of the Federation.
Prominent persons who joined AJKLTF (ABRSM) were Subash Jamwal, Amit Dutta, Harshdeep, Joshpal Singh, Preet Dutta, Nitan Kumar, Prof. Sanjay Samyal, Kulwant Singh, Vijay Sharma, Kishore Sharma, Chander Ji, Gurdas Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Karan Singh and Rakesh Kumar.
Later, several issues pertaining to teaching community were also highlighted including non-payment of salary of NPS employees from last two months and implementation of old pension scheme in place of NPS, DPC of teachers and non-teaching employees of Jammu division, creation of new posts at District level, removal of pay anomaly of Master Grade and lack of proper infrastructure.
They urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene in the matter as soon as the same was already discussed with Principal Secretary Education Department regarding DPC but till date nothing concrete has been done.
The AJKLTF also lauded the announcement made by LG Governor Manoj Sinha’s administration with reference to implementation of 18 percent and 9 percent HRA in favour of employees.
