AITUC members project demands

KISHTWAR, July 23: All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) has urged upon the state authorities to regularize all the daily wagers, start abandoned work on power projects in Chenab region and strictly enforce Labour laws in the area.
In a joint meeting of the AITUC and All J&K Trade Union’s Federation held under the leadership of N K Dogra at Kishtwar today, the members strongly projected demands of workers from Chenab belt. They stressed that local youth from Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban be provided jobs in Hydroelectric projects and other companies engaged in infrastructure development.
They also demanded that Government must take initiative to fully start work on Keru, Rettle, Karthei and Kwar hydel power projects so that local youth could get jobs. They also demanded regularization of daily wagers of Forest Deptt and other organizations, establishment of Saffron Park at Kishtwar, complete Naigad Water Supply Scheme, install new HT power line between Batote and Kishtwar and promotion of tourism Industry in the sub- region.
