AIKS takes PM’s Skill India Mission to Jagti

JAMMU, Mar 26: Dr. Roopak Vasishtha, Chief  Executive Officer and Managing Director, Apparel  Made-Ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council,  Government of India, inaugurated a six day training program for the displaced Kashmiri Pandit women at Jagti town. The program launched by All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) and Kashyap Educational Economical & Charitable Society (KEECS) in collaboration with APPAREL Sector Skill Council is a part of their ongoing effort to bring Prime Ministers Skill Development programs for  displaced community.
The program targets to train 60 displaced women from Jagti, as a part of the pilot batch, for the various skills envisaged under the Apparel Council’s Skill framework. The training is based on industry demands of different segments of this sector where women folks from the displaced community will be trained and assessed under the Recognition of Prior Learning Level (RPL) and on successful completion and assessments will be certified by accredited assessment agency of Government of India, a handout issued by AIKS said.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. Roopak Vasishtha the chief guest and guest of  honor  Moti Kaul, Vice President, State BJP. The key note address was presented by  Raj Nehru, a business human resources leader and secretary AIKS. He in his key note address explained objectives and various dimensions of Skill development that has potential and propensity to transform the youth and women of the community and take charge of their future by leveraging the schemes of the government .
Moti Kaul talked about Prime Minister’s ambitious vocational educational program for “Skill India’ mission and how such initiatives can prepare this community for eventualities and lead their future with dignity and pride.
M.K Pajan , general secretary AIKS highlighted the organizational achievements and future program to develop and support entrepreneurship.
KK Khosa, senior Vice President AIKS and president KP Sabha congratulated the team and offered the infrastructure for conducting such similar programs for the community.
The Chief Guest Dr. Roopak Vasishtha in his address said that Apparel Sector Skill Council has been launched with primary mandate of enhancing and to build a capacity in skill development.
The others who attended the program included Vijay Kashkari, coordinator AIKS, Ramesh Aryan, secretary AIKS, Vijay Raina, Ashok Bhat and Bansi Bhat of  KEECS. Vote of thanks was presented by A.K Pandita, president KEECS.
