AIJMS team visits Jats at Hiranagar border, demands OBC status

JAMMU, Aug 19: In an effort to connect with members of Jat community living in far flung areas, Ch Manmohan Singh, J&K President of All India Jat Mahasabha (AIJMS) and his team toured border area of Hiranagar.
During the tour, Manmohan Singh held meeting at different places which were attended by the community members.
He said that by visiting places where Jats reside, he is trying to connect with all the community members in J&K.
Manmohan Singh asked the community members to form a committee with members amongst them and they unanimously elected Ch Subash Chander of Sanji Morh as Tehsil President AIJMS Madeen and Rahul Choudhary as Youth President AIJMS Madeen.
In another meeting at village Chann Katriyan, Jats chose Ajeet Choudhary as village President of AIJMS and Dhara Singh as Youth President AIJMS. Manmohan Singh urged the Governor S.P Malik to grant OBC status to J&K Jats.
He asked the newly formed committees to reach out to every Jat family and bring their issues to his notice so that same can be taken before the authorities concerned.
The visiting team included Ch Girdhari Lal, Ch Diwan Singh, Capt Om Singh, Ch Janak Raj and others.
