AIBCU writes open letters to PM, Sonia

JAMMU, June 25: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) Social, today expressed serious concern over the failure of the State Government in implementing the Apex Court judgment on Mandal Commission report which has granted 27 percent reservations to OBCs.
In the open letters to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and AICC chief Sonia Gandhi who visited State today, the Union said that J&K Government to divert this reservation distributed it into RBA and ALC with 20 percent and three percent respectively. Only two percent reservation has been given to State OBCs on the name of OSCs, it added.
The letter while referring to Apex Court judgment demanded adoption of Para 95 of the judgment under which no category loses its due share including RBA/ALC but the Government pays no heed to this with their malafide intensions.
The Union made clear in its letters that it will not support the coalition partner in coming elections unless the OBCs are given their due share. The Union urged both Prime Minister and Mrs Gandhi to issue instructions to PCC chief, Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz to change the State policy in favour of OBCs of the State.
It said that Prof Soz was hoodwinking the leadership of the party that the State OBC Advisory Board was working for the betterment of the OBCs when actual fact is that the Board chairman is not among OBCs and it has become totally defunct as its chairman, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and Vice Chairman, Kuldeep Raj Verma have failed to convene any meeting in past one and a half year.
