KATHUA, Aug 28: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) today organized an awareness program in Kishanpur Kandi, Kathua, focusing on the vital role of the Indian Constitution, designed by Dr B R Ambedkar.
The event emphasized core values such as equality, liberty, and fraternity that the Constitution upholds for all citizens.
Notably, the discussion underscored the achievement of gender parity through the Hindu code bills-a remarkable stride attributed to Dr Ambedkar’s vision.
The event addressed the constitutional rights of OBC, SC, and ST communities, often overshadowed by interpretations of Article 370.
The speakers advocated for leveraging the power of voting to secure and preserve these rights. They urged these communities (SC, STs, and OBCs) to recognize the potential of their votes and to use them effectively.
Highlighting the universal and humane nature of the Constitution, speakers confronted calls for its revision, asserting that it stands as a testament to equality and fairness. They drew a parallel with religious texts that have remained unchanged for centuries.
Mohan Lal Verma orchestrated the program, with esteemed speakers including Lok Nath, Dr C R Munday, Dr Hardyal, Dr Hem Raj, Rajinder Sikka, Kewal Krishan Fotra, Yoginder Paul, and Prof Kali Dass.
The event concluded with a resounding call to action for marginalized communities to harness their voting power, recognizing it as a potent tool to assert their rightful constitutional guarantees.
