JAMMU, Oct 31: Asking BJP to fulfill its poll promise made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during 2014 Lok Sabha elections, All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) today said that Narendra Modi had assured the State OBCs about the implementation of Mandal report during his 2014 L.S. elections.
In a statement issued here, Union said again just after the L.S elections during the J&K State Assembly elections the BJP instead of releasing its “Manifesto” released vision document reiterating the assurance of Prime Minister in this regard.
But after the lapse of more than three and half year of Modi Government neither Prime Minister, nor any State or Central leader made any statement in this regard despite the meetings with the BJP top brass.
The statement said that AIBCU held a rally at Vijaypur in June 2015 with Dy. C M , Nirmal Singh as the chief guest, but till date he observed silence. The Union also met Dr Jitendra Singh Minister of State in PMO with the demand but to no avail. Even the meeting with BJP national vice president, Avinash Rai Khanna failed to yield any thing the statement added.
It said the statements by BJP leaders in OBCs convention at Srinagar after more than 3 years to solve the OBC reservation problems in a time bound manner cannot befool the OBC people unless some concrete is done in this regard .
It said an abrupt BJP OBCs convention with a few allured persons at Srinagar is only aiming at 2019 L.S elections with assurances for solving OBC reservation problems as the Prime Minister had made already. However if Government and BJP is committed to settle the issue it should show results instead of making false promises, the statement added.
