Agriculture, Horticulture, Industries activities resume

JAMMU, Apr 20: With the Home Ministry issuing guidelines for lockdown 2.0 allowing certain sectors like Agriculture, Horticulture, Industries etc to function from today in order to ease public living and boost rural economy in the wake of covid-19 crisis, the people across the Union Territory of J&K have also resumed these allowed activities ensuring all the preventive measures and directives put forth by the Government.
The relaxations have been allowed only in Green Zones which do not fall within hot-spots, clusters and containment zones and Home Ministry has asked that due caution has to be exercised to ensure that only genuine exemptions/relaxations are given.
The people in the Arnia Tehsil and its adjacent villages have also resumed agricultural activities and are expressing their gratitude to the Government for these relaxations.
Other than agricultural activities, industrial activities have also resumed in Jammu and Kashmir.
The supply chain of agriculture machinery, fertilizers, pesticides and seeds have been made available in Green Zones across the Union Territory for the farmers and agriculturists. Sajad Ahmad of Anantnag who runs a fertilizer and pesticide shop said that from the very morning today, people came to us for various agricultural implements like pesticides, fertilizers etc meant for apple crop. We try our level best to make people aware of the precautions like use of face masks and maintain social distance etc while coming to shops to purchase these agricultural implements, he added.
Construction activities have also resumed and people engaged in it have too a sigh of relief.
The people across different corners expect that other allowed activities will also be resumed in green zones this week if the COVID-19 cases will not surge.
