JAMMU, July 10: Unemp-loyed Agiculture technocracts have demanded revocation of SRO-442 and 433 for the over all welfare of the cadre in the State Agriculture Production department.
Talking to media persions here today, unemployed Agriculture technocrats of J&K UT led by Divyansh Verma strongly opposed SRO-442 in Agriculture Production Department which came in 2017 wherein some deliberate draconian amendments have been done, the important one being in case of recruitment of Junior Agriculture Extension Officer (JAEO).

He said SRO–442 mentions that these posts will be filled 100% on promotional basis contrary to the earlier SRO-02 dated Jan 2, 2004 wherein these posts were filled on 60:40 basis i.e 60% by direct recruitment and 40% by promotional quota. He further added that these posts (JAEOs) used to be entry level posts in APD and the Agriculture technocrats are suffering from psychological trauma due to this amendment in the SRO.
Further, more than 500 posts of JAEO are vacant in JKAPD but due to SRO-442 these posts are not being referred for direct recruitment. Same is the case with the entry level posts AEO in Gazzeted cadre where the ratio between direct and promotional quota was 50:50 under SRO-179 but again the Government came with a new provision under SRO-433 in which quota between direct and promotional quota was set as 20:80 i.e 20% by direct recruitment and 80% by promotional quota.
The members further requested that SRO-442 and SRO-433 should be revoked for the welfare of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
The other members present on the occasion were, Dr Tariq, Manmohan, Pratik, Divya, Gagan, Upmaniyu, Rajeev, Kamal Bharti, Rohan and Amit.
