Agri Technocrats seek Lt Governor’s intervention, project issues

JAMMU, Sept 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Agriculture Technocrats Association (JKATA) has urged the higher authorities to remove stagnation and accord promotion and issue regularization orders of the JAEOs.
They cautioned the authorities that they do not want any sort of confrontation and adopt agitational path and the authorities should resolve their pending issues.
In a meeting of the JKATA held under the chairmanship of Dr. Surinder Radotra, president at Mubarak Mandi today, the members discussed their issues. They pointed out that promotion process of 285 Incharge JAEO’s in both Jammu & Kashmir divisions needed to be speeded up. They said the promotion/regularization of JAEO’s has been demanded with retrospective effect from 2017 for both the regions.
They further demanded fixation of seniority of JAEOs of both the regions (UT level), DPC for the post of AEO on the basis of qualifications with meritorious accordingly. The said the transfer policy be framed in order to ensure transparency. The framing of transfer policy will help to groom a motivated workforce for the larger interest of the organisation.
People are posted in far flung areas of Jammu division like Kishtwar, Ramban, Doda, Poonch and Rajouri and other remote areas for the last 5-6 years should be transferred to Jammu, Samba Kathua areas. They said a time-bound reshuffle is required to train the workforce in all fields of the department. Pick and choose policy in transfers should be stopped immediately.
Radotra expressed resentment against the discrimination, nepotism policy and step motherly treatment by thew J&K Administration. He said if their issues were not resolved in time bound manner, they will not hesitate to come on the roads. Government was forcing them to launch agitation.
He appealed to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) Agriculture Production Department Atal Dulloo to personally intervene and redress their grievances at the earliest.
