After spurt in killings, minorities feeling insecure in Kashmir: JKNPP

Srinagar, May 30: The Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today expressed serious concerns over the situation arising due to the spurt in the targeted civilian killings while stating that the minorities were feeling insecure in Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference here, Haqeeqat Singh, General Secretary JKNPP said that the civilians are being killed which was seen from Rahul Bhat to Amreena Bhat, and unarmed policemen including many others.
“These inhuman and innocent killings must stop forthwith, as no religion on earth teaches or favours such inhuman acts. The bloodshed is unacceptable in any society and is against humanity and the very basic spirit and concept of Kashmiriyat,” he said.
The leaders of the JKNPP who were also present on the occasion said that the minorities in Kashmir are feeling insecure and are on the roads, protesting for the last several days
“The Government should address their concerns and problems and also instill confidence among them, and create such an atmosphere so that they feel secure,” they said.
Singh said that they appeal to the majority community of Kashmir to come forward and extend their cooperation, and join hands to strengthen the bonds of the brotherhood of Hindu, Muslim, and Sikh Etihad which the majority community has always proved in the past also.
“History is knocking at our door to be united and fight against any disruptive and decisive forces who are hell-bent upon spoiling the peaceful atmosphere among the communities of Kashmir.”
The leaders also advised the youth of Kashmir that instead of indulging in drugs, “they should devote their time in studies, sports, and other curricular activities and make their future bright and take the advantage of all available avenues to come to the expectations of their parents, society, and State.”
The JKNPP urged the LG Administration to ensure people-friendly governance and direct all its officials from top to bottom to listen to the grievances of the public.
