After LG’s appeal, Ware House Federation curtails working hours to reduce crowds

JAMMU, Apr 19: A day after the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha appealed to Market Associations to voluntarily stagger schedules to reduce crowds, Jammu’s biggest grain Mandi, Ware House-Nehru Market Jammu has curtailed its market’s working hours from 9 am to 6 pm from tomorrow.
After LG’s appeal, Deepak Gupta, President of Traders Federation Ware House-Nehru Market Jammu on Monday called an emergency meeting of its office bearers and senior members of the federation.
Munish Mahajan, Senior Vice President, Abhimanyu Gupta, Junior Vice President, Sham Lal Langer, General Secretary, Vishal Gupta, Secretary, Amit Gupta, Cashier and other senior members were present in the meeting.
It was decided in the meeting that from tomorrow, the market will open from 9 am to 6 pm daily. Gates will be closed at 6 pm and timing of the unloading of goods will be before 11 am and after 6 pm. It will help to reduce crowds in the market. It was also decided that sanitization of all the markets will be done on a daily basis with immediate effect. It was also decided in the meeting that no customer will be allowed in the market without a face mask and every shopkeeper and their employees will strictly follow the guidelines issued by the administration on COVID-19.
In the meeting, Deepak Gupta informed that the Federation has arranged thermal guns and oximeters in the office and anybody needing these facilities can approach the Federation Office.
