UDHAMPUR, Apr 26:  Demanding rehabilitation policy for the roadside vendors and small businessmen along National Highway at Chenani, Tamater Morh, Kud, Patnitop and Batote, the affected persons held a protest demonstration at Tamater Morh, here today.
The protest was organized under the banner of Jan -Sangharsh, led by Advocate Sanjeet Bavouria, who highlighted the loss caused to these small businessmen due to opening of Chenani -Nashri tunnel.
He explained that because of opening of Chenani -Nashri tunnel, these shopkeepers, Dhabawalas and hoteliers have suffered badly due to non-plying of vehicles on this stretch.  Claiming that no framing of rehabilitation policy in favor of these effected businessmen amount to snatching of their fundamental right, he demand allotment of land to the affected persons in front of National Highway before the beginning of the tunnel.
Barbaria warned the State Government that if no decision is taken on their demand within a week, the people would intensify protest.
Others, who addressed the protest demonstration, included Ram Das Atri, Naseeb Chand, Darshan Kumar, Sham Lal, Dharam Chand, Munshi Ram, Ramesh Kumar, Shankar Das, Raju, Nisar Hussain, Surjit Singh, Ashok Kumar Punch, Ramesh Kumar, Sarpanch Jai Kumar, Roshan Singh and Sardari Lal.
