JAMMU, July 2: City police and District Special Branch (DSB) sleuths under “Operation Sanjeevani” arrested three persons including an advocate along with 168 grams of heroin.
As per police sources, a team from City police station and sleuths of District Special Branch (DSB) during checking of a hotel at Residency Road intercepted three persons, who were trying to hide themselves after seeing cops.
During checking, police recovered 168 grams heroin from their possession and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Abdul Rouf (advocate), son of Shakeel Ahmed of Lassana, tehsil Surankote, district Poonch, Aftab Hussain, son of Mohammad Akram of Phagla Lassana, district Poonch and Azaz Ahmed, son of Khurshid Ahmed of Khori Nar, tehsil Haveli, district Poonch.
A case under FIR Number 36/17 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against them at City police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO City Inspector Sunil Arya along with DSB sleuths made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
