SRINAGAR, Oct 22: Advisor to Governor, K Skandan, today convened a meeting to review progress on scanning and digitization of revenue records under Digital India Land Record Modernization Programme (DILRMP).
The meeting was attended by Financial Commissioner Revenue, Dr Pawan Kotwal, Revenue Secretary, Abdul Majid Bhat, Commissioner Survey and Land Records, Deputy Commissioners of Srinagar, Pulwama, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Budgam, and Anantnag, Principal Revenue Training Institute, Bemina and other concerned.
The concerned Deputy Commissioners apprised the Advisor about digitization progress in terms of number of documents that have been scanned and number of Jambandis (Record of Right) and Mussavis updated in their respective districts.
The meeting was told that the scanning and quality check of revenue documents is in progress and is picking up in the districts where it was behind the schedule.
It was said that, 26,048,202 documents have been scanned in Kashmir division including Leh and Kargil districts of Ladakh division.
Similarly, 11,151,050 documents have been quality checked in Kashmir Division till date. The meeting was also informed that 29,054 of old Mussavis have been scanned while 12,258 old Mussavis have been quality checked till October 19, 2019 in Kashmir division including Ladakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Advisor Skandan directed the concerned DCs and revenue officers to strictly follow the deadlines and complete the digitization process at the earliest so that all the scanned documents would be updated.
While calling the Revenue Land Records as backbone of all developmental activities, the Advisor asked the concerned Deputy Commissioners to make the revenue record process people friendly.
The Advisor also directed the Revenue Department authorities to provide all required support to the concerned district administrations for further expediting the process of scanning for its timely completion.
