LEH, Jan 8: Dr Pawan Kotwal, Advisor to the UT of Ladakh, chaired a meeting here at the UT Secretariat in Leh today to review the arrangements for the 76th Republic Day celebrations in Ladakh.
As per a statement, the Republic Day events in Leh will be held at the Polo Ground, while in Kargil, the celebrations will take place at Khree Sultan Cho Stadium.
During the meeting, Dr Pawan Kotwal emphasized the need for smooth coordination between all concerned officials to ensure the event runs successfully.
Key points discussed included traffic management to ensure easy movement around the venues, providing clean drinking water for attendees, availability of public toilets, medical assistance on-site, and refreshments for children participating in the celebrations.
Dr Kotwal also instructed officials to ensure that all Government and historic buildings are illuminated for the occasion and that the event is well-organized and dignified.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Dr S D Singh Jamwal, DGP; Yetindara M Maralkar, Secretary FCS&CA; Michael M. D Souza, Secretary GAD; Shashanka Ala, Secretary IT; Bhanu Prabha, Secretary Higher Education; and Deputy Commissioners of Leh and Kargil, Santosh Sukhdeve and Srikanth Balasaheb Suse, among others.
