Admn making concerted efforts for prompt redressal of people’s grievances: Advisor Khan

JAMMU, Feb 3: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan today reiterated that the present administration is making concerted efforts towards resolving grievances of people of Jammu and Kashmir in an expeditious manner.
The Advisor, while interacting with people at his weekly public outreach camp held at Convention Centre, Canal Road, maintained that fulfilling people’s developmental aspirations is one of Government’s top priorities which is being met with all commitment and care.
About 37 deputations and 63 individuals comprising around 300 persons hailing from different parts of the Union Territory called on the Advisor and apprised him of various issues confronting them.
A deputation of retired firemen of Fire and Emergency Services J&K sought Advisor’s intervention regarding the issue of their pay anomaly.
Another deputation of SRO-43 of 1994, SRO-376 candidates of Police Department demanded issuance of their appointment orders pending for clearance from last 18 months.
Likewise, a deputation from Baba Deep Nagar, Gangyal sought Advisor’s intervention regarding sanitation issue in its area.
Meanwhile, a deputation from Mendhar area of Poonch district apprised the Advisor of shortage of underground bunkers for the dwellers at Line of Control.
Another deputation from Marhama village of Bijbehara demanded construction of a playing field in their area.
Similarly, a deputation from Doongian area of Bahu Jammu demanded tile work on a lane in their area.
A deputation from Bashir Gujar Basti Satwari, Jammu demanded black topping of a road in their vicinity.
Another deputation from Channi-Himmat sought renovation of public park in their area.
Several other deputations and individuals hailing from different areas of the UT including Kathua, Jammu, Reasi, Ramban, Rajouri, Poonch, Srinagar, Baramulla, Kupwara, Anantnag, Sopore, Pulwama and other areas met the Advisor and apprised him of their issues.
On the occasion, Advisor Khan also issued necessary instructions to the concerned departments for expeditious redressal of people’s grievances.
Meanwhile, advisor Governor, Farooq Khan released Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) theme based diary of State Resource Centre for Women Development (SRCWD) at Civil Secretariat.
State Mission Director, SRCWD, Rifat Arif; Specialist Gender, Sameena Mir and other concerned were present on the occasion.
Pertinently, the theme diary has been released on the eve of National Girl Child Week to generate awareness about the BBBP scheme.
