Sierra 2020- the annual fest of IIM Sirmaur concludes

JAMMU, Feb 3: Sierra 2020, the two-day annual fest of IIM Sirmaur concluded today with festive celebrations and enthusiasm.
A horde of competitions churned out during both the days with lucrative prizes for the winners and some lifelong learning experiences for those who did not turn out to be so lucky.
On the second day of the fest, various management events like “Take-Off” by the Entrepreneurship Cell, “Daayitva” by Datonics, “Stock Warz” by Area 51, “Capital Market Workshop” by Finserve, “Enigma” by Datonics, “Marka Wars” by Markaizen and “Ophzeus” by Scope-The Operations Club were held simultaneously.
IIFT Delhi secured first three positions of Ophzeus. ADMIFMS Mumbai secured first position in Daayitva while NIT Surat secured second position. On the cultural front, solo singing competition (by Song Dew) lined up for the morning.
In sports, Dolphin Institute won the Volleyball (men) while UPES Dehradun was the runner up. Graphic Era took away the TT men’s title with UPES again secured the runner up position. Paramjeet Singh from DIT won the solo dance competition (HHI). In the power lifting category, IIM Sirmaur won titles in three categories while Himachal Institute of Pharmacy and Guru Nanak College Yamunanagar each won in one category.
The evening was serenaded with excellent performance by IIM Sirmaur’s band-The Crux. After a musical evening which included some beautiful melodies from the band, the event drew close to its climax: a star night featuring the popular Punjabi singer, Akhil.
The night began with Akhil welcoming everyone to the night. It then turned a magnificent shade of crimson with Akhil performing some of his famous songs. The performance went up to late night with the crowd driven into what can only be described as an exhilarated frenzy.
Professor Neelu Rohmetra, Director, IIM Sirmaur in a brief felicitation ceremony gave IIM memento along with a Himachali Cap and shawl to Akhil, after which the singer concluded his show and took his leave.
