Admission seekers protest for their absorption

JAMMU, July 26:  Aggrieved over denial of admission to them, a number of admission seekers today held separate protest demonstrations at GGM Science College and SMPR College.
The protesting admission seekers raised slogans against the Cluster University and alleged lack of transparency in the admission process. They were demanding admission by increasing the number of seats.
At GGM Science College, the protest demonstration was held under the leadership of JJSF leader Atul Sudan, who alleged that the Cluster University,  on the direction of State Government, was hell bent to destroy the future of student community of Duggar region as the capacity of the city colleges was reduced to 6000 from almost 15000 from this session.
He stressed that the students who have passes their higher secondary examinations have every right to take admission in the colleges for further studies.
Similar protest was held at SMPR College under the leadership of Lucky Singh, president of United Students Forum, who alleged irregularities in the merit list for admission selection.
The protesting students appealed Governor N N Vohra to intervene and issue necessary instructions so that all the admission seekers are absorbed in the colleges.
