RAJOURI, May 15: In a major step towards strengthening religious infrastructure in the area, the Kotranka Administration retrieved the encroached land meant for the construction of the Eidgah in Kotranka and further accelerated the ongoing construction work after removal of the encroachment.
The action was carried out under the supervision of ADC Koteranka, Dil Mir, ensuring that the land was restored for its original public and religious purpose. Following the retrieval of the land, construction activities at the Eidgah site have been expedited.
When contacted, Dil Mir stated that the encroached land had been successfully reclaimed after due administrative action, enabling smooth continuation of the construction work.
The Eidgah Project was initiated by Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board as part of its broader mission to strengthen and upgrade religious infrastructure. Dr Andrabi has been actively working for the development, restoration and beautification of religious institutions, shrines, mosques etc in different districts of the Union Territory. Under her leadership, the Waqf Board has initiated several landmark projects aimed at improving facilities for devotees and addressing long-pending public demands. The construction of the Eid Gah at Kotranka was also one such long-awaited demand of the local population, which has now started taking shape due to her intervention.
Locals appreciated the proactive role of Dr Andrabi for prioritizing the project and ensuring that the construction process moves ahead without hurdles. They also lauded the efforts of the Kotranka Administration, for taking timely action against encroachment and facilitating the smooth execution of the project.
Residents stated that the construction of the Eidgah would greatly benefit the people of the area by providing a proper and spacious venue for offering Eid prayers and conducting religious gatherings.
