SRINAGAR, May 15: Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the strategically important Northern Command, today chaired a high-level security review and coordination meeting in Srinagar to assess the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness across the region.
During the meeting, Joint Control Centres (JCCs) briefed the Army Commander on the current security scenario, counter-terrorism measures, intelligence coordination, and overall security dynamics in the Kashmir Valley and adjoining areas.
Senior officials from various security and intelligence agencies attended the meeting.
The Army Commander stressed the need for stronger inter-agency coordination and seamless sharing of intelligence to ensure swift joint operations against security threats.
He said close cooperation among the Army, police, and intelligence agencies remains vital for maintaining peace and strengthening the counter-terrorism grid in Jammu and Kashmir.
Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma also appreciated the professionalism and vigilance of the security forces operating in challenging conditions and asked them to continue working in close coordination to effectively deal with emerging threats.
