ADKPUF demands white paper on Pandits killings, exodus

JAMMU, June 5: A meeting of All Displaced Kashmiri Pandit United Forum (ADKPUF) was held at Durga Nagar under the chairmanship of D N Kissu in which Government was asked to come out with a white paper on killing and dislocation of Pandits from Valley.
The meeting, while lambasting the Government said it is totally unconcerned about the problems faced by the community and never came out with a comprehensive program on its rehabilitation. The Forum reiterated its demand that the security of the community is prime concern therefore no compromise can be made on rehabilitating the community at a single place in Valley and the displaced community can’t take the risk of facing yet another migration.
The Forum demanded that the community should be declared a minority and internally displaced.
It alleged that the Government has failed to implement the employment package and no relief has been announced for the over-aged migrant youth besides enhancement of cash relief. It demanded where the funds given by the Centre for the same are being utilized.
The Forum also wanted to know from the Government that how many members of the community were benefited under Roshni scheme and percentage of KP youth employed by successive Governments since 1990.
It said the fate of I’ Cards for the displaced families is still unknown despite submission of all documents. It demanded that no conditions be attached to employment of the displaced youth and demanded immediate passage of Shrines and Temples Bill besides settlement of other long pending demands. Others who addressed included Prof G L Koul, its chief advisor, P L Sudeshi, its president, P N Raina general secretary, C L Koul vice president, C L Zutshi, Balji Pandita and Nanaji.
