JAMMU, July 4: In order to ensure adequate security arrangements at Jammu Airport and to know about grievances of the staff deployed there, the Additional Director General of Police Security (ADGP), V. K. Singh held a durbar at the airport which was attended by the jawans and officers deployed at the airport.
Addressing the durbar, Mr. Singh asked the jawans and officers to work professionally and without compromising the norms laid down by Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). He further directed all the staff on frisking duty to remain vigilant while performing their duties and not to compromise in any situation with security related issues keeping in view the present security scenario.
On the occasion, Mr Singh heard the grievances of the officers and officials and issued instructions for redressal on spot.
Earlier, Ashok Kumar Sharma, SP briefed the ADGP about the security arrangements and deployment of personnel at the airport. He also informed about the security arrangements made for arrival and departure of Yatries and other steps taken.
The ADGP also reviewed the security arrangements for the Shri Amarnathji Yatra and visited the Yatra Base Camp at Bhagwati Nagar and took stock of the security arrangements. He inspected the security arrangements at the Base Camp and chaired a review meeting with the senior officers of security agencies viz. executive police, security forces and other concerned departments.
Taking an extensive review of the security arrangements put in place to facilitate the yatries, he emphasised to remain people friendly with the pilgrims who are visiting the Base Camp for their onward journey to Holy Cave. He also enjoined upon them to keep close coordination and remain extra vigilant to ensure smooth and successful Yatra.
During the visit, Mr. Singh also interacted with the pilgrims and enquired about their difficulties.
