ADGP Railways reviews security ahead of Navratra Festival

KATRA, Oct 5: After assuming the charge, Addl DGP Railways J&K UT, Sunil Kumar paid two days visit to Katra and reviewed security ahead of Navratra Festival.
The security meeting was held in the office chamber of SSP Railways Katra in which SSP Railways Katra Sanjay Kumar Kotwal; SDM Katra Abhishek Sharma; Addl SP Katra Amit Bassin; SDPO Katra Kuljeet Singh ; Station Master Railway Station Katra, SHO RPF and other officers of GRP Unit Katra participated.
In the meeting, special focus was kept on the security of pilgrims besides seeking the co-ordination and cooperation of all agencies to facilitate the forthcoming festival of Navratras and other festivals ahead. The officer took stock of security arrangements being taken by the Railway Police Katra for the safety and security of Railway Stations, Railway track/tunnels/bridge/ and Railway property all along the Railway track in the jurisdiction of GRP Katra from Sangar to Katra.
He visited the Railway Station Katra, GRP Lines Katra, Police Station GRP Katra and interacted with the officers/jawans deployed there and briefed them about the present security scenario. While briefing the officers and jawans at GRP Lines, he emphasised on the behavioural aspects of the GRP manpower while performing their duties at Railway Station Katra as most of traveller to Katra are religious pilgrims.
“The GRP men should display their highest degree of discipline, politeness and extend every possible help to the passengers,” said ADGP. He was very particular about the welfare measures of the manpower to keep the morale and dedication of force at its highest level.
