BJP Legal Affairs Deptt discusses organizational issues

JAMMU, Oct 5: BJP Law & Legal Affairs Department held a meeting to discuss organizational and general legal issues in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir at party headquarters, here today.
The meeting of department was addressed by the BJP general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul accompanied by J&K BJP chief spokesperson, Sunil Sethi to discuss the importance and organizational structure of the department.
The meeting was presided by State convenor of Law & Legal Affairs Department, Hunar Gupta.
Ashok Kaul, while addressing the meeting explained in detail the organization structure of the department in UT J&K and the role of members of the department. He said that the main role of the Department is to project the legal issues related to the party and its office bearers, to take legal action against any misadventure the political opponents to deliberately malign the image of party through print on social media platforms.
He further emphasized upon the members that they should ever be ready to provide free legal aid to public at large and also to raise issues related to common public through public interest litigation.
Sunil Sethi in his address guided the members of the department with regard to Peoples Representation Act and also to be prepared to raise the issues of public importance. He further said that the Law & Legal Affairs Department is one of the component pillars in the organizational structure of the party.
Hunar Gupta raised various issues pertaining to the legal fraternity in UT, including the issues of transfer of registration work from judicial officer to revenue officials which in causing inconvenience to the public at large and legal fraternity in general. The issue of non-operation of various forums and courts and including debt tribunals since the last two years was also raised by him in the meeting.
Among those who were present in the meeting included Amit Manhas, Arvind Khajuria, Deepesh Singh Pawar and Executive Members which included Vagesh Gupta Bharti, Varun Kotwal and various other District Incharges and Co-Incharges from various districts of UT J&K.
