JAMMU, June 13: In a significant development today, Sunil Kumar, ADGP Railways, chaired a crucial meeting with SDPOs, SHOs, and I/C PPs of GRP Katra.
The purpose of the meeting was to assess the security arrangements being implemented by GRP Katra in anticipation of the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, 2023.
During the meeting, ADGP Railways briefed all participants on the security measures required to ensure the utmost safety of railway stations and passengers.
Following the meeting, the senior Railway Police officer convened a Darbar of Jawans at GRP Lines Katra, which witnessed the attendance of 90 officers and officials of GRP Katra. The event commenced with a warm welcome address presented by Sanjay Kumar Kotwal, SSP GRP Katra. In his address, he highlighted the security system adopted by GRP Katra to safeguard passengers and railway stations, while also shedding light on the welfare initiatives undertaken for the Jawans.
The ADGP Railways urged the officers and jawans to continue their exemplary work with sincerity and remain vigilant in their duties. He provided an overview of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra duties, emphasizing their significance alongside other law and order responsibilities.
Furthermore, he stressed the importance of maintaining the highest levels of discipline among the officers and jawans. ADGP Railways attentively listened to the grievances of the police personnel from GRP Katra and assured them that their genuine issues would be addressed as a matter of priority. He further pledged suitable rewards for those who exhibit dedication and discipline in their duties.
The investiture ceremony of the DGP commendation medal also took place during the event, where deserving awardees were honored with medals. ADGP Railways also presented commendation certificates to the best performers, acknowledging their outstanding contributions.
