ADGP Armed asks jawans to remain vigilant, follow SOPs

SRINAGAR, Sept 23: ADGP Armed, Jammu and Kashmir, Arun Kumar Choudhary visited North Kashmir’s Kupwara and Baramulla districts where he interacted with officers and chaired darbars of jawans at armed headquarters in both these districts.
The ADGP first visited Armed Police Complex at Wayun Kupwara where he took salute at the quarter guard and thereafter inspected various branches of the unit. He also inspected the residential areas and estates at the headquarters. After inspection, the ADG chaired darbar of the Jawans and officers and heard their grievances patiently.
While addressing the darbar, Choudhary said that safety and security of the police men is a prime concern for which they are required to remain extra alert while performing duties of different nature. He said while performing various duties there is a need to remain extra cautious and careful and follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) properly so that least inconvenience is caused to the general public.
Referring to the welfare measure for police personnel, ADGP said that many welfare schemes are already in place for the welfare of the policemen and many of them are in the pipeline so as to ensure maximum benefits are provided to our policemen. He assured the Jawans that the issues highlighted by them will be looked into on priority.
After darbar, the ADGP chaired a meeting of all officers including Company Comma-nders and issued directions regarding the present security dimensions and measures required to be taken. He advised them to strike a balance between enforcing the discipline and ensuring the welfare of the officials. The ADGP also interacted with the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jehangir, SP Kupwara Shriram Ambarkar, CO CRPF 98 Battalion and other officers.
The ADGP later visited the headquarters of IRP 13th Battalion where he chaired a meeting of officers of the unit and interacted with the Jawans. During meeting, he issued detailed instructions to the officers and jawans with respect to the routine duties and the duties in view of the forthcoming local bodies and panchayat elections.
