JAMMU, Sept 7: Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Arun Manhas convened a meeting with officers and representatives of various religious organizations to review the arrangements for ensuing Eid –ul-Azha.
ADC discussed the arrangements to be put in place by the concerned authorities and asked for maintaining better coordination among the allied departments, Auqaf and Masjid Committees to ensure adequate facilities to the devotees.
He asked JMC to ensure cleanliness outside all the mosques of Jammu besides also ensuring the availability of mobile public utility van outside the Eidgah ground. He asked the PDD and PHE departments to ensure adequate supply of power and water during the festival days. Fire and emergency services officers were asked to keep fire tenders ready at vulnerable places to face any eventuality.
The ADC directed the Health officer JMC and officers of CAPD, Legal Metrology and Police Department to conduct regular market checking, especially during the festivities for maintaining quality of commodities and also to check overcharging on essentials especially meat and poultry. The issues related to security, traffic management were also discussed in the meeting.
