JAMMU, Sept 7: Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Tara Chand has alleged that both BJP and PDP have proved failure on all fronts as people continued to suffer in view of inadequate essential services.
Addressing a public rally at  Khour today, the former DyCM blamed PDP-BJP for the current situation  in the State. He said if the two parties are unable to solve the issues of people, they should step down.
Congress  leader said that PDP-BJP rule on the basis of the Agenda of Alliance has failed to deliver good to the public. The people from Jammu gave BJP a massive mandate and people of Kashmir to PDP  but now they are feeling deceived. Many  development works have been suspended  in Khour and Akhnoor area and the people have been left to suffer.  BJP stood exposed and people are realizing that it is proving anti-Jammu and anti-development.
He claimed that Congress Party got the approval for the refugees package but BJP has been creating hurdles in fulfilling aspirations of refugees.  “ During my tenure over 9,000 families were identified for pension in this border area but the local BJP- MLA has not come up to the expectations of the people. During last 10 months the people of the area have seen no development at all,” Tara Chand said.
“The pace of work on the bridge over Chenab river, connecting Pargwal and Khour has been slowed down. This bridge was approved during Congress regime and the site and soil testing work was also done before the 2014 Assembly elections”, he stated.
He said no compensation has been paid to the farmers of  Khour area whose crops have been damaged during last three seasons. Many of the villagers in this border belt are facing food grain crisis. He said CAPD ration depots are lying dry. He said people  residing in over 140 villages in Chhamb Constituency and Akhnoor area are facing ration shortage and the Govt has failed to maintain essential supplies.
Not only this the people are also facing shortage of drinking water. Long and unscheduled electricity cuts  have made the life of people more horrible here. But the  PDD is slapping exhorbitant bills on the public,  putting extra ordinary and illegal expenditure of the people. He further said that most of the people in Khour area are without  Aadhar cards and Govt must expedite the process in the area.
