KARGIL, Nov 16: Acting CEC, LAHDC, Kargil and Executive Councilor for Works Aga Syed Abbass Razvi today reviewed preparations by the concerned departments for carrying out snow clearance works during the winter months.
Executive Councilor Tourism and Zanskar Affairs, Phunsog Tashi, Executive Engineer Mechanical Division Kargil, Executive Engineer, Suru Valley Division Sankoo and officers of Municipal Committee Kargil besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.
Various issues pertaining to snow clearance works from Tai Suru to Penzila road , Sankoo to Taisuru road and surrounding areas and snow clearance from link road Shargole, Pashkum and Sodh blocks were discussed threadbare.
The Acting CEC directed the Executive Engineer Mechanical Division Kargil to deploy men and machinery on both sides of the Tai Suru to Penzila stretch well in advance for carrying out snow clearance operations in case of snow fall.
Meanwhile, the Executive Councilor for Zanskar Affairs instructed the officers concerned to ensure the stocking of adequate HSD and other necessary requirements well in time to ensure hassle free clearance works.
The Executive Engineer SVD Sankoo was directed to allot the PWD Guest House Rangdum for stay of the officials and labours during the course of snow clearance works.
The Acting CEC further directed the Executive Engineer SVD Sankoo to keep ready all men and machinery, casual labourers for execution of snow clearance works and mud to overcome slippery road conditions during winter months.
The CEC also directed the officers of MC Kargil to carry out the snow clearance work from the link roads of Shargole, Pashkum and Sodh blocks as per past practice during the winter months.
