Accounts employees’ body seeks action for manhandling of 2 officers

JAMMU, Sept 9: The J&K Accounts Employees Association (Jammu) has expressed strong resentment against the inaction by the concerned authorities over alleged manhandling of the two officers/ members of the Association by the concerned authorities at Jammu and Doda.
An emergency meeting of the Accounts Employees Association was held here today under the chairmanship of Kamal Singh Pathania (president) today wherein, members expressed serious concern over the issue of manhandling of the AAO, Deepak Sharma in the office of PHE City Division Jammu on April 9, 2019 by some people. The members said that an inquiry committee was framed by the Chief Engineer PHE but unfortunately no outcome was witnessed till today. The Association had submitted a memorandum to the Chief Engineer and also gave reminder but the action is still awaited.
The second incident took place at District Treasury Office Doda where Additional Treasury officer was manhandled by some contractors on May 16 this year. But again, no action has been taken by the concerned authorities despite memorandum submitted by the Association. There is strong resentment among the AAOs, AOs and CAOs over the issue.
They also demanded filling up of vacant posts of AAOs, AOs and CAOs in various departments. They stressed for proper implementation of transfer policy as well. They also expressed resentment over the statements of one Kulwant Singh Sambyal, on behalf of Association and said that he is no more president of the body after proper elections, KS Pathania was elected as president constitutionally. He was trying to misled the media and the cadre, they said.
Adarsh Sharma vice president, Shiv Paul Singh- general secretary, Sanjay Pandoh- secretary, Mehboob Chowdhary – Jt Secy, Rakesh Sharma- organizers, Rakesh Kashyap cashier, Kulbir Singh press secretary and others were also present.
