JAMMU, June 21: Anti-Corruption Bureau Doda today conducted Joint Surprise Check of Soil & Water Conservation Department Batote in connection with alleged embezzlement of money against un-executed and non-existent works.
Joint Surprise Check by the ACB teams in the office of Project officer Soil Conservation, located at Bagliar Batote, was conducted on the basis of a complaint against officers / officials of Soil & Water Conservation Department Batote Range regarding embezzlement of huge amount of money against un-executed and non-existent works under Catchment Area Treatment (CAT) plan during the year 2014-2018 in Kuntwara range comprising units Seel, Shaie, Arnora and Badroon Ghat.
During Joint Surprise Check, record / documents were taken into custody by the ACB for scrutiny to find out the role and responsibility of the officers / officials in alleged scam. During JSC, the ACB also conducted spot inspection at various locations in Doda in association with the officers / officials of the said department.
After completion of the scrutiny of record, further course of action into the matter shall be taken accordingly.
